Email ‘Verification’ and ‘Validation’ Services
Over the past few years many very low cost email verification services have sprung up on the web. What these services claim to do is verify if an email address is working but without sending an actual email message to that email address.
Unfortunately, we have found that many of these services produce highly inaccurate results. Also, no service can ascertain the validity of an email address where the incoming server is “Catch All” (accepts all incoming email ) and you should expect to receive back a large proportion of tested email addresses that show UNKNOWN results.
There are also a few services that claim to be able to remove spam traps from a list of email address. We have tested various services using exactly the same test list but got VERY different results back from each service. Therefore, we are unable to recommend such a service at this time.
